Sun City Waterworld is located at the Sun City Resort in Northwest has been operating since in 1981.

A popular tourist destination, they offer parasailing, jet-skiing, tubes, speedboat rides plus bumper-boats for children. Guests can also enjoy a mini-golf course, mini-train or mini-cars on a racetrack.

However, when Covid-19 forced them to close their doors in March they found themselves in a difficult situation; with no income and over 37 employees to pay.

Towards the end of March they heard an interview on 702’s Money Show where we learnt that Nicky and Jonathan Oppenheimer had pledged R1 billion in the form of SAFT, to offer long-term interest-free loans to assist the employees of SMMEs that had been negatively affected by the lockdown.

Shortly thereafter they applied online for a SAFT loan.

“The ladies at Standard Bank were super-efficient and so helpful – it was an absolute pleasure to deal with them.

We kept our staff informed at all the stages and explained that the loan might only be paid to them by the last week of May. However, we were so relieved when they told us that in fact it had already been paid to them by Tuesday 12 May. The loan has provided much-needed relief for our employees who are truly suffering under these unprecedented conditions.

We are so grateful to all who facilitated this process and made it happen.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
